Things I've written recently

In addition to nosef (which I mentioned in the last entry) I've written a few odds and sods recently due to some long evenings spent waiting around for things to happen.

Gnowt

I've had the domain gnowt.com for a while now just because I liked the name. I've put a few different things on it over the past few months. The latest is a URL shortening service with a slight difference.

It essentially stemmed from my getting rather sick of seeing ugly short URLs like t.co/f84iofs; I decided I wanted a service that generated short but memorable URLs that are easy to convey to another person by speech.

JZON

JZON is a JSON visualiser which is largely based on something I wrote a while ago which, in turn, was inspired by the excellent Eaglemode.

Basically, JZON lets you paste in a block of JSON and then view it as a series of blocks on the screen. You can then click on blocks to zoom in on them.

Some games

I decided it was about time I learned how to use the HTML5 canvas object and, to that end, I've written a few fairly simplistic games:

Rotate 4

A version of connect 4 with the addition that you can spend a move to rotate the board 90 degrees. No AI or mouse control, just the basics.

Lines

An implementation of squares. Again, no AI.

Picture Puzzle

A simple rearrange-the-pieces picture puzzle game that support loading in a picture from a URL.

Wyrm

An unfinished (but I'm not sure if I'll bother) worm game - like Snake on Nokias - with a few twists. The worm looks like a real worm and wiggles when it moves :)
